The Blue Mountain Bicycle Tour is an all day, all-inclusive, downhill riding tour, it is a truly delightful bicycle trip, 95% no-pedaling, down the mountainside. Prospect Plantation is an agricultural property established in the 18th century. During this trail ride, you will see the magnificent White River Gorge - a spectacular view! Jamaica's first hydro-electric power station was built here by Sir Harold Mitchell. On a clear day, Cuba, some 90 miles away to the north, is visible on the horizon. The channel between the two islands was known as the Spanish Main by buccaneers because it was the main route taken by ships en route to Spain from Central America.

This ride combines history with fun, the only one of its kind!

The tour starts with a visit to the Seville Great House Museum, which houses a wealth of artifacts found on this fascinating property. Then its time to mount up and visit all the places that you have learnt about, riding by castles and sugar factories dating back nearly 500 years. Ride through wooded areas, where the Taino Indians used to hunt for food. Learn about the culture of these first Islanders, their beliefs, habits and existence, before Columbus landed and the island was colonized under the Spanish flag. Ride through a natural wetland, shaded by almond and coconut trees, and see the excavations carried out by archaeologists, keen to uncover the deep rooted history of this area.

On arrival at the beach, refreshments are served in a jungle beach hut, before you strip down to your bathing suit, for a dash through the waves on horseback. This unique tour consists of a series of decks and platforms mounted in the trees of the forest. Your guide will assist you in using the high-angle equipment and techniques to move from platform to platform. The tour begins with a short walk to a crossing of the Great River that separates the parishes of St. James and Hanover, guest receive safety and demonstration of the techniques used throughout the adventure. You are then attached to the first traverse and depart under the roots of an immense strangler fig tree for a three hundred foot flight across the lagoon; this is just the start of numerous border crossings.

After the first traverse, participants will take a brisk 10-minutes walk up to the diving board where the traversing and adventure continues with eight additional traverses, coupled with the intermittent nature walk.
