    The Highbury Barn dates back to before the 18th century. In 1899 it was sold for £92, 5 shillings and 5 pence. This included the pub, brewery, one gallon of rum, three-quarters of a case of minerals and half a cake. The original 'Bill of Sale' can be seen in the lounge bar. By the early 1970's the pub was extended into what you see today. There is rumoured to have once been a secret tunnel from the cellar through to the Abbas Hall area of Cornard, once belonging to the Convent of the Blessed Virgin and used by monks to gain entrance to the pub. This area of Gt Cornard, once known as the Manor of Cornard Magna was even mentioned as in the Doomsday Book.     Today starts with a private tour of The Tower of London. On arrival, you are met on the middle drawbridge by your very own Yeoman Warder. Leading you into this world heritage site before it opens to the public, your own Beefeater will take you by Traitors Gate. Admire the Crown Jewels in the Jewel house before being taken to the Scaffold site and the Torture exhibition.

    Departing the Tower, head to The Mall to watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony as one of the Queens Foot Guard Household Regiments march from St. James Palace to Buckingham Palace to military music dressed in their world famous tunics and busbies (if not on display, see Buckingham Palace and then visit the Horse Guards Parade).
