Unforgettable excursion to the beautiful, still Heidi-like region of Eastern Switzerland. You will first visit the Chocolate Factory MAESTRANI where you will be introduced to the secrets and art of chocolate making and even get to try and buy it (top savings!).

The journey continues to Schwagalp (4500 ft/1352 m). The modern cable car takes you (only 10 minutes ride) to the peak of the highest mountain of Eastern Switzerland, Mt. Santis (8332 ft/2502 m) with a weather station on the summit. Enjoy the view over the Alpine peaks of six nations (Switzerland, Germany, Austria, the Principality of Liechtenstein, Italy and France).

Enjoy a coach drive through the famous region of Appenzellerland. Stop in the picturesque small town of Appenzell, where you can admire the beautiful architecture with painted facades. The pedestrian precinct invites you for strolling and shopping (moderate prices). Optional visit of the local museum, to learn more about traditions and way of life in this special part of Switzerland. Would you like to enjoy some typical cuisine of this area? Return to Zurich by coach via the mountain passes Wasserfluh and Ricken.

A beautiful tour to one of Switzerland's most magnificent Alpine regions!

The guided coach tour takes you on scenic routes to Interlaken at the foot of the snow-covered Alps of the Bernese Oberland. After some time at leisure in Interlaken journey to the well-known holiday resort of Grindelwald, which is nick-named the 'Glacier Village'. You will have enough time to explore this region on your own.

An optional cable car ride (operates only May 12 - October 28, 2007) to the sunny terrace of Mt. First at 2?168m / 7113 ft is recommended - for a breathtaking panorama of the Bernese Alps. In the late afternoon meet your coach and guide for the return journey to Zurich.

Find out for yourself that Heidi?s world is not just a children?s story ? it really exists! It?s a world of mountains and valleys, alpine lakes and meadows, waterfalls, gorges, caves and fascinating scenic reserves.

After first doing a city tour of Zurich we follow Lake Zurich to Rapperswil, the city of roses. We visit the picturesque Old Town and its medieval castle; you will also have some time at leisure here. Then after crossing the Ricken Pass with its panoramic views of the Alps we reach the lovely Toggenberg region whose pretty hill and valley scenery is perfect chocolate box material!

In Vaduz, the capital of the tiny Principality of Liechtenstein you will have more time at leisure. A visit to the Post Office is recommended; the famous stamps from this tiny state are coveted worldwide by philatelists and amateur stamp lovers alike. And finally we arrive at Maienfeld, the setting for the Heidi stories. In the summer months we can visit Heidi?s village. A pleasant short walk leads to a collection of typical mountain houses, a village shop, and of course lots of little goats. (Goat Peter isn?t far away ?) Entry into the authentic Heidi House is optional.

A beautiful trip back to Zurich along the banks of Lake Walen, guarded over majestically by the Churfirsten mountain range brings to a close this most nostalgic of Swiss tours.
