This tour shows you the most interesting sights of Zurich and its surroundings! Start with a guided city tour of Zurich which shows you the commercial center, a section of the Old Town, Fraumuenster Church with its famous Chagall windows, historical Limmatquai and the university district. Drive along the Hoehenstrasse which offers spectacular views into the Alps, we then drive to Rapperswil which is named the 'City of Roses'. The charming little town of Rapperswil offers unique attractions for visitors - the Rose Gardens, the Castle, the deer park on the Lindenhof and the picturesque Old Town.

After a guided orientation tour and some time at leisure in Rapperswil, enjoy a 2-hour cruise on the Lake of Zurich (unescorted). There is a restaurant on board for your convenience. First possible boat back is scheduled to arrive at 3:15pm at Zurich Buerkliplatz Pier.

Between November and March there are no boats operating, so you return to Zurich by modern train 'Gold Coast Express' along the romantic road that follows the lake-shore.

This excursion takes you to a still Heidi-like region, where old traditions are still alive daily. Enjoy a coach journey to the chocolate factory MAESTRANI, where you will be introduced to the secrets and art of chocolate making and even get to try and buy it (top savings!).

Continue to Schwagalp (4500 ft/1352 m) surrounded by mountains and green hills. Hundreds of cows spend the summer on this Alpine pasture. Listen to the cow bells and observe the traditional way of cheese making. After this, drive through the lovely hills and mountains of the Appenzellerland.

Stop in Appenzell and discover and enjoy this lovely town its scenic painted houses. Time at leisure. Great strolling and shopping in the narrow pedestrian streets. Optional visit of the Museum of Appenzell, where you learn about traditions and way of life in this part of Switzerland, or enjoy a local specialty in one of the cozy Appenzeller Restaurants (optional and additional cost).

Return to Zurich via the mountain passes of Wasserfluh and Ricken.

After driving along Lake Geneva, you will cross the peaceful region of Gruy?res to reach the worldwide known village of Gstaad. By the charming road of the Saanenland region climb to the Pillon mountain pass. Ascent by cable-car to the Diablerets Glacier (3000m or 10'000ft). At the summit a panoramic terrasse.
