It takes 28 mins to reach Horsens from Aarhus by DSB Intercity trains, the main train service operating in Denmark. Horsens is two stops from Aarhus towards Copenhagen on the main line running from Frederikshavn in north to Copenhagen.
The nearest airport is Billund Airport, the country's second largest airport.
There is also a smaller airport in Tirstrup, north of Aarhus. Passengers arriving at that airport and are depending on public transportation will have to catch the airport coach into Aarhus station and then a train from Aarhus to Horsens.
From Copenhagen, Horsens can be reached with trains running from the airport itself. The journey time is approx. 2 ½ to 3 hours (most often passangers will have to change trains at the main station in Copenhagen).
Get around
A ticket purchased on a local bus is valid for one hour and costs DKK 14. A ten-trips card costs DKK 105, each trip is valid for an hour as well.

The city of Aarhus can be reached by intercity trains within 30 mins while the town of Vejle is about quarter of an hour away by train in opposite direction, towards Copenhagen.
Horsens is a Danish town in east Jutland. It is the site of the council of Horsens municipality.
Geography Horsens lies on Horsens fjord in eastern Jutland. Situated 50km south of Aarhus and 30km north of Vejle with approxiamately 200km to Copenhagen. As a consequense of the positive development in the city, many people move there. It is believed that perhaps 50% hail from Aarhus because they find Horsens very affordable by comparison.
The city is currently undergoing a positive development with new industry moving to Horsens, or expanding their activities already in Horsens. A lot of electronics and graphical companies are based here. Horsens also has Denmark's only Industrial Museum. The city is also home to Vitus Bering University College.
In recent years, much effort has been made to expand and improve cultural events. Several internationally known artists, like Joe Cocker, Elton John, The Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, Tom Jones, Bryan Adams, David Bowie, José Carreras, Helmut Lotti, Westlife, R.E.M., Paul McCartney, Robbie Williams, The Rolling Stones, Madonna and Dolly Parton have performed, or have performances planned in Horsens.
