Red Sail Sports Resort Dive Course - Hawaii

The Kohala Coast offers some of the best diving in the Hawaiian Islands. Hawaii is one of the most geographically isolated places on earth - 2000 miles from the nearest major land mass. An amazing 30 percent of the state’s marine animals are found nowhere else in the word!

The theory session teaches students the basic rules for scuba diving, such as stabilizing ear pressure, breathing on scuba, and how to use the equipment. The dive boat goes to a shallow reef and an instructor will accompany the student at all times underwater. The dive is approximately 30-45 minutes long and goes to a maximum of depth of 40 feet.

Your day will start in Hilo at the beautiful Japanese Gardens named after Queen Lili'uokalani. Here you can enjoy an awesome view of Mauna Kea, one of the worlds tallest mountains, and a gorgeous view of the Hamakua Coast. During the winter months it is not uncommon to see humpwhales in our bay.

Then proceed to downtown Hilo, where you will experience the charm of this historic town. Our next stop is the fabulous Rainbow Falls whose 89 foot high cascade hides a sacred cave. Just above Rainbow Falls you can explore under the huge canopy of a beautiful banyan tree that always leaves her guests in awe, and a lagoon on the river to the falls that has become a very popular attraction.

After your visit to the statue of King Kamehameha then stroll through the gorgeous Panaewa Rainforest Zoo, this is a treat in itself. No trip to Hawaii would be complete without a visit to Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory, it is here that you can sample our Island's delicacies. Then proceed to Richardson Black Sand Beach, make sure to bring your camera as the scenery here is delightful. Our last stop is to visit the sea turtles. It is amazing to watch these gentle sea creatures feed only a few feet from shore. (Although, the tour cannot make any guarantees, they are in abundance during the winter months).

Red Sail Sports Hawaii Two Tank Dive or Snorkel 4 hours

The Big Island's Kohala Coast offers some of the best diving in the Hawaiian Islands. The water here is clear year-round often exceeding 100-foot visibility, with temperatures ranging from 72 degrees in the winter to 80 degrees in the summer.

The Big Island is still growing, thanks to the world's most active volcano, Kilauea. As a result, the Kohala coast is dominated by intricate lava flows, tunnels and crevices.

The 'Lani Kai' (Heavenly Seas) is Red Sail Sports 38-foot Delta Dive boat, designed in the United States for operation in the Pacific. The boat, which comfortably accommodates up to 18, was designed with a diver's needs and comfort in mind. It is equipped with a spacious dive platform, restroom facilities, fresh water showers and fresh water rinse buckets.

Mask, fins, snorkels, cold beverages, seasonal fresh fruit, snacks and fresh towels are provided with every dive

Snorkelers are also welcome! If you wish to come along on this diving tour, but do not dive, you are still welcome! Choose the SNORKEL option at time of booking and you can join the boat and enjoy all the inclusions, except of course, diving!
