Mountain Villages - Omodos and Kakopetria 8 hours

Kakopetrias, Cyprus

Discovering the pretty mountain villages is great fun as life there continues at a slower and more traditional pace.

Omodos stands on the southern slopes of the Troodos mountains and is well known for its wines and intricate lace work. It is very picturesque as its white stone houses line cobbled streets around the Monastery of the Holy Cross, one of the oldest monasteries in Cyprus.

Kakopetria lies on the northern flanks of the mountains and is full of old world charm and folklore - its name means "bad stone", and this particular story is revealed to you as you enjoy lunch and explore the oldest part of the village.
