Spend a day on safari in the magical Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve on the north coast of KwaZulu-Natal. Located in the heart of Zululand, this huge, well managed reserve is home to 84 species of game and an impressive variety of bird species. It is also home to the magnificent "Big Five" - lions, buffaloes, rhinos, elephant and leopards, as well as cheetahs, giraffes, zebra, blue wildebeests, spotted hyenas and wild dogs.

The reserve enjoys international acclaim for it's work in Rhino conservation, spearheading the successful "Operation Rhino" campaign to bring the White Rhino population back from the brink of extinction in the 1950's and 1960's. This is an ongoing campaign which the reserve is proud to be a part of.

The tour includes closed vehicle game drives throughout the day, and you have the option to take an open vehicle game drive at an additional cost, payable direct to the supplier on the day. Lunch is at the award winning Hilltop Camp, which has incredible views over the reserve.

You are invited to enter Pumba's wildlife world of adventure where the Big Five and an amazing variety of other animals awaits you. Anything from the elusive Leopard to the mighty Eland can be expected on your South Africa safari.

Pumba Day Safari's allow visitors to experience an African Safari. The Msenge (Day Safari Lodge) is set amongst dense thicket overlooking the plains where animals roam freely. It has been built around the naturally occurring vegetation, with the tree tops peeping through the magnificent thatch structure.

Pumba Private Game Reserve is home to Africa's Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant and Rhinoceros) and offers you the chance to experience the wonders of Africa, from the graceful Giraffe to the rarely seen Leopard, 22 species of Antelope and other small game. Safari's are operated in custom made safari vehicles with experienced game rangers and trackers. Your day comprises of a 2 hour game drive, an expertly prepared meal and another hour and a half game drive. Game viewing is done from special custom-made open Landrovers with elevated seating and adequate protection from the elements.

The streets, squares, monuments and memorials of historic Cape Town provide the setting for the first part of your tour. This leisurely stroll incorporates most of the significant historic attractions in central Cape Town such as Greenmarket Square, the Grand Parade, Castle of Good Hope, City Hall, District Six Museum, Slave Lodge, Parliament, Company's Garden and St George's Anglican Cathedral. (Tour enters the District Six Museum and St George's Anglican Cathedral).

After a break for a light lunch at one of the sidewalk cafes (not included), set off for the township of Langa. Here you can look forward in time as you walk and talk with Xhosas of the Cape. Hear about their rites and rituals, culture and traditions, challenges and dreams.

See their children, homes, churches, feel and smell township life. This tour is not about rushing around the Cape Flats ticking township names off a list. Rather, to pause, engage and interact. Your journey is about connecting and reflecting, and most importantly it is about people.

The Footsteps Township Combination © tour starts at the official Cape Town Tourism Office. This is within easy walking distance of Foreshore hotels (10 minutes) and the V and A Waterfront (20 minutes). Undercover parking is available at the nearby Picbel Parkade in Strand Street.
