There are direct trains from Copenhagen Airport (Kastrup) in Denmark. Furthermore, there are trains from Malmö, Gothenburg and Stockholm (change in Alvesta). There is also an airport in the vicinity with flights from Stockholm or Kalmar. Get around
Växjö is a small town, so your feet will be sufficient for the center of town. The rest of the city can be reached by bicycle or bus. City buses as well as buses to the country side can be found at the railway station. Buses are operated by Länstrafiken. See
The house of Emigrants (Utvandrarnas hus) - A museum about the 1.2 million Swedish who moved to America in the 19th and 20th century.Växjö Cathedral (Växjö domkyrka) was built in the 12th century. There is a Swedish army surplus store not too far from the city center. There are lots of shopping opportunities in the main street Storgatan. Nothing that you can't buy everywhere else in Sweden though. Eat

Kronoberg castle ruin is located a bit north of the city. It is a place with beautiful Swedish nature, tourists and a cozy but relatively expensive café.
