Begin your private tour in Faro, where you will visit the Carmo church, the Jewish cemetery and the ethnographic Museum (to see the clothes of the Tuna fishermen).

Then visit Olhao, where you see the first streets of the city, and where today we still find fishermen sewing their nets. Visit one of the most typical and well known places of Olhao - the fish market - where you will see fish jumping on benches!

Lunch is in a charming restaurant (not included) before the next stop of Tavira, where tuna is of huge importance. See where people lived, which grocery stores housed tuna, schools where children of fishermen studied, tools fishermen used and the chapel where the fishermen prayed before they went out to sea.

Finish your tour in Villa Real Santo Antonio, which under the order of Marques de Pombal, was built in less than two years, and is where most of the tuna was sold.

Admire the magnificent views of the bay at Ponta da Piedade you first stop today.

Discover Lagos, a town linked to the Portuguese Discoveries and join a guided visit of the Antonine Museum within the Golden Chapel of St. Anthony (entrance fee not included), the slave market and the statue of Prince Henry the Navigator.

Before your tour concludes, visit the village of Sagres and see its fishing harbor and Cape St. Vincent.

At Encumeada summit (1,007 meters) both sides of the island (north and south) can be seen at the same time (weather permitting). Enjoy a stop for lunch, before continuing to Porto Moniz where you can discover one of the most beautiful points of the north coast - a road built on the rocks by the sea where you can admire the astonishing waterfalls.

Porto Moniz on the northwest coast, is a village well known for its volcanic swimming pools, and Paul da Serra is the only plateau on the island at 1,400 meters high. On the way back to Funchal, you will visit Ponta do Sol.
