Half Day Tour to the Bavarian Mountains and Salt-Mines The Romantic Bavarian Alps will thrill you! The journey takes us via the Alpenstrasse to where you travel parallel to the King's Lake river to the Obersalzberg. Here the once rulers of the Third Reich had their residence, although there is very little left to see except where the road, leading up to the famous Eagle's Nest starts (Hitler's former Conference Center).

The highlight of your tour still awaits as you then tour the over 450 year old Salt Mines. Wearing traditional miners' clothes, you enter the mines and hear historical as well as legendary tales of the fascinating underground world. Using the same slides as hundreds of miners before, you descend to the grottos, the magical world beneath the surface of the earth. You end your adventure with a raft sail on the salt lake and a special train trip.

The tour will both amaze and educate you into this underground world, great fun for all ages! Afterwards there will be a short visit to the town of Berchtesgaden before returning to Salzburg.

Half Day Hiking - The Hermannskogel 5 hours

You final destination for today's hike is the Habsburg Lookout. This is the highest point in Vienna and is located on the top of Hermannskogel 1,778 feet (542 meters) above sea level in the northwest of the city.

Your walk leads you through lovely beech and oak forests, and every now and again, offers a magnificent view of Vienna and its surrounding countryside.

During the walk there will an opportunity to stop for a lunch break (meal not included in tour price). End your walk in Grinzing at a typical Viennese Heurigen (wine tavern), an absolute must during a trip to Austria.

Ascend and Descend: 984 feet (300 meters) each way.

After a short city tour, in which you will see the Ring avenue with its famous historical buildings and monuments, you will arrive at the well known Danube Tower.

From its terrace, 492 feet (150 meters) above the roofs of Vienna, you can admire the marvelous panorama of the city.

This evening will end in one of the traditional wine taverns of Grinzing, where you can enjoy our music and the typical Viennese ambiance.
