Monkey Forest, Mengwi Temple and Tanah Lot 5.5 hours

On this motorcoach tour you will journey into the countryside and make a stop to take a short walk (approx. 300 meters) through Scenic Terraced Rice boxs. Cultivated in unique Balinese style, surrounded by coconut trees and tropical horticultural plants including sweet potatoes and tapioca. At the end of your stroll, relax in a Balinese pavilion and sample traditional Indonesian fried tapioca and sweet potato together with mineral water, tea or coffee.

After leaving the village of Gulingan, we will drive along to the Royal Temple of Mengwi - Pura Taman Ayun. Dating from 1634, this picturesque complex surrounded by a moat with multi-roofed meru shrines and intricately carved wooden gates.

We then proceed to the sacred Monkey Forest, a cluster of towering trees which is home to hundreds of monkeys.

Last stop is Tanah Lot, famous in Bali as the Sunset Temple. Experience the sunset beyond the black lava towers of the sacred 16th century temple, built on a lava rock 200 meters off shore.

Today, first visit the attractive Puputan Square, located in the center of the city. Explore the Bali Museum with its art collection that ranges from prehistoric finds to early 20th century art. Rich with archeological objects and traditional artifacts. The Bali Museum is a place not to be missed in order to get a better understanding of Bali.

Then onto the "Catur Muka", four - faced, statue standing at the center of a cross road is the very center of Denpasar and the landmark of the city. Visit the colourful 'pasar' (traditional market) where local people sell their products with much haggling over prices. A place of beauty, local fruits, flowers, spices, fresh fish, chickens, pigs, bamboo baskets, pandanus leafmats are all on sale today at the markets.

Take a ride in a traditional 'Dokar' horse and cart, before your last stop at the Bali Arts Center, a traditional Balinese building which houses a permanent exhibition of modern paintings and woodcarvings.
