Dolphin Swim at Ocean World Varies

Dolphin dorsal tow!

The Dolphin Swim, the most popular program at Ocean World, begins with an educational introduction presented by our expert dolphin trainers. You'll not only learn fascinating facts about these amazing creatures, but you will also be given important safety instructions for the encounter - a must for a truly pleasurable experience.

All participants in the Dolphin Swim must wear life jackets (provided) to float freely on the surface, allowing the dolphins to come much closer. A maximum of ten participants and two dolphins take part in each session, making for a truly personal encounter! The in-water time is about 30 minutes during which you'll spend some very special moments with the dolphins, sharing a kiss, hugging, dancing, feeding, petting and swimming. A 'human hurdle' and a spectacular dorsal fin tow will finish off and soon become your most memorable event from your Puerto Plata vacation!

Why not combine your Dolphin Swim with a Sea Lion OR Shark and Sting Ray Encounter?
Sea Lion: Watch the playful Patagonian sea lions swim, dive, leap, bark and show off their acrobatic skills before your up-close meeting in one of the interaction pools. Meet, pet and feed these fascinating mammals, before ending with a hug, a big wet kiss and the photo opportunity of a lifetime!
Shark and Stingray: Glide across the surface of a warm stingray pool with a mask and snorkel, touching the backs of these beautiful, gentle sea creatures. The stingrays no longer have their stingers, so you're perfectly safe to enjoy the sensation of their graceful bodies moving around you. The most fearsome and fascinating marine creature is the shark! Ocean World is the only park in the world to offer guests the chance to hold, touch, feed and swim with a small school of adult nurse sharks, under the supervision of expert trained staff.

Admission is included when you book an interaction program.

Catalina Island and River Cumayasa

An adventure to remember!

A combination of bird watching along the River Cumayasa and snorkeling with the tropical fish on Catalina Island.

Catalina Island is renowned for her exceptionally clear waters and wide variety of colorful marine life. Traveling along the coast you will find isolated beaches, idyllic coves and rugged cliffs. An abundance of wildlife may also be spotted on the Island, including buffalo and mule deer on the hillsides, and bald eagles crossing the sky. Whales, dolphin, flying fish and sea lions can also be spotted when traveling around off the coasts of the Island.

The trip along River Cumayasa will put you among some wonderful riverbanks, where you will enjoy spotting the various species of birds in the trees. You might even be lucky enough to spot other wildlife amongst the beautifully fringed riverbanks!

A delicious buffet lunch is served at a typical Dominican ranch and in the afternoon some Wild West activities are on offer, including horse back riding or carriage riding.

Dominican Republic may be an interesting country as far as culture and vegetation is concerned, but its biggest attraction is UNDER THE SEA. Our daily excursions will bring you to this paradise.
