Explore the hanging gardens of the rainforest. It is located next to the Braulio Carrillo National Park in a private reserve of virgin forest, approximately 1 hour 45 minutes from San Jose.

You will take a walk through the trails of the forest and explore in this gondola system a 90 minute trip on the tram.

Leave early and travel through the Braulio Carrillo National Park where you will pass mountains covered by dense forests, as well as numerous rivers and waterfalls. Cross the banana plantations to board a boat and sail to Tortuguero National Park.

Sail the exotic channels of Tortuguero National Park, famous for its secluded beaches where the nesting of gigantic green turtles takes place (July to September). Tortuguero is one of the most important nesting sites of the Green Turtle in the Western Hemisphere. Relax as you sail through the network of channels and lagoons crossing the National Park of Tortuguero, which allows you to be in close contact with the great variety of flora and fauna of the region.

You will climb the beautiful mountain of Monte de la Cruz on an exciting morning horseback ride. As you ride the winding trails you will visit the "Ojo de Agua", which is the source of the potable water for the city of Heredia. You will see picturesque dairy farms, marvelous mansions and views of the surrounding valley, which are hard to describe, you need to see them for your self!

From the top of the mountain you can see all the way to San Jose, Braulio Carrillo National Park and the two magnificent volcanoes - Barva and Poas. As you return riding down the evergreen trails you will be able to enjoy many species of birds, animals, butterflies and ornamental plants. At the end of your tour you will visit a local cheese factory, then enjoy a delicious lunch.
