Hagerstown
Hagerstown is a small city on the edge of the Appalachian Mountains along the Potomac River in Maryland, USA. It is the county seat of and the largest city in Washington County. The city is perhaps best known for its outlet mall, which offers a huge variety of clothing. It is named after Jonathan Hager, a German settler who founded the town. The City has a population of around 40,000 (metropolitan area: 230,000) and is growing. Hagerstown is one of the fastest growing cities in Maryland.

Hagerstown is the largest city in Western Maryland (not counting Frederick County) and is only an hour's drive from: Washington, DC.Baltimore, Maryland.Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. You could also fly in via Hagerstown Regional Airport, located 8 miles outside of the city. There are six flights daily to and from Pittsburgh. Rental Cars are available at the airport.
Get around Renting Cars or driving to Hagerstown is advised because only the Downtown area is walkable. Walking should be avoided in most parts of the city. For a Taxi you could call Miller Cabs, You cannot hail a cab on the street. You could use a County Commuter bus. The busses are very ineffective. Hagerstown's mass transit is very inadequate.

Valley Mall The Valley Mall is one of only two indoor malls in the Hagerstown Metropolitan area (other is the Martinsburg Mall). There is over 800,000 Square feet ov retail space. The Anchors are Macy's, The Bon Ton, JC Penny, Sears, and Regal Cinimas.
