New Bern

New Bern is a city in North Carolina, which is a state in the United States of America.

Get in

Generally, those who come to New Bern come in from Raleigh-Durham International Airport via rental car or (much less frequently) through the local airport, Craven Regional Airport. In the past, the Global TransPark in Kinston, North Carolina was to aid significantly in getting individuals to cities in eastern North Carolina (such as New Bern), but difficult times and lessened state legislative support for the Kinston airport has stagnated whatever hopes were to be made to increase commercial air traffic for the region. I-40 and I-95 are interstate highways that run relatively close to New Bern, which is located on NC Highway 43 and US Highway 17.

Get around

Rental cars are absolute necessities in the town in order to get around. Taxis are exorbitantly priced and rare.

Admission is very cheap, the guides are quite knowledgeable, and the site itself has been quite well restored (even with a lack of dedication to it by state legislative appropriations).
