Nelson Bay is the largest town on Port Stephens, in New South Wales, Australia in Port Stephens Council. It is about 60 kilometres by road north-east of Newcastle, on the south shore of Port Stephens. It is a major tourism centre, particularly for surfing, diving, fishing, and dolphin and whale watching.
