  • Get in

Flying from Belize City with Tropic or Maya Island Air is easiest. You can also ride a school bus into Placencia from Belize City; 4-6 hours. The road from Southern Highway to the village is rough and dusty - alternately take the bus past Placencia road to Independence and Mango Creek in Stann Creek and then the Hokey Pokey water taxi across to Placencia Village.

    Eat

Some good dining choices abound in the local Placencia Village. For handmade italian, Trattoria~Placencia offers a smaller but delicious menu. Da'Tatch restaurant has a larger menu offering choices from rum mango chicken to seafood. For items such as wraps, the Purple Space Monkey is the place to go with a larger bar menu as well. Most places to eat are open-aired and located right off of the main sidewalk along the beach. Down on the point of the peninsula tucked away is a place called Yoli's, which one can order a meal and have a few extra culinary surprises thrown on the plate as the chef tries to clear out the kitchen as the night gets older. More smaller restaurants area also scattered within the village to be discovered as well.

Placencia is a long narrow peninsula on the Caribbean Sea coast of the Stann Creek District in Belize. In the late 20th century it became a significant tourism destination. The eastern side of the Placencia Peninsula is generally a long expanse of white sand beach; the western side is bounded by a long narrow north-south trending bay of the Caribbean Sea.

The largest community on the peninsula is the Village of Placencia, situated at the extreme southern tip of the peninsula. The village is home to 458 permanent residents according to the 2000 census.

Placencia was the filming site for the finale of VH1's reality series the Flavor of Love 2.
