The dive sites of Phuket offer a great many varieties of marine life from small invertebrates to much bigger encounters and while the southern sites present grandiose dives over hard coral and spectacular boulders, the eastern dive sites offer breath taking views of high cliffs emerging from the bottom of the ocean and covered in vibrant hews of soft corals. The inviting emerald warm waters of Phuket will greatly enhanced a diver's wonderful memories of swimming in the Andaman Sea. The dives are accessible in three ways. By daily regular trips that reach destination between 1:30 and 3:00 hours, by privately chartered speed boats and by local boats that can access neighboring dive sites along the coast line of Phuket in minutes.

SHARK POINT:
Sharkpoint was named after the laid-back leopard sharks. Dive in and you will soon find out why this is Phuket's most popular dive site. The reef is covered with soft coral and sponges and is constantly buzzing with fish of every shape, size and color. Squadrons of jackfish and tuna patrol the reef; rays and barracudas cruise by. Currents can be brisk at this site but they run parallel with the reef sections and therefore allow for excellent drift diving. Leopard sharks (or: zebra sharks) can be seen almost every dive.

ANEMONE REEF:
Lying less than a mile north of Sharkpoint, this dive is a single large submerged rock. True to it's name it is covered in a living carpet of sea anemones. Add to this the scenery of a constant parade of reef fish and you have a very colorful dive site indeed. Anemone reef is also special for its lionfish, sometimes twelve or more in a group. This is truly a colorful dive.

KING CRUISER WRECK:
A fairly new, if unplanned, addition to Phuket's dive site portfolio: the King Cruiser is a big old Japanese car-ferry that ran on a reef and sank May 1997 with no loss of life. Coral growth is just only starting but there is plenty of fish life. Wrecks have their own special attraction. This is a fun dive.

PHI-PHI ISLANDS:
Colossal monoliths rising straight from the sea and towering hundreds of feet overhead. It includes wall dives, caves and caverns as well as shallow coral gardens. All densely populated with corals and reef fish. Koh Bida features many seafans and soft corals and is inhabited by large schools of colorful bullfish wrasses and lunartail groupers.

RACHA YAI:
Easy diving with clear water and a good variety of marine life. Mainly hard fringed reefs with lots of friendly fish. Gentle drift diving. Great site if you haven't dived for a while and need to get wet.

RACHA NOI. NORTH SIDE
The main dive here follows a rocky finger down to 30 meters. The rocks are covers in soft corals and anemones. Barracudas, stingrays and sharks are often seen here, as well as the resident bullethead parrotfish. Good multi level diving, with the shallower regions offering large colorful coral blocks surrounded by reef fish.
